Embossing

Even though it is called the Teresa Collins Stampmaker-it also makes stencils and embossing plates. DT member Cheri Piles created this great little monogrammed tag.

She also created this one for Christmas but I think it shows the amazing detail you can get.

I have created two tutorials on dry embossing with both the Grand Calibur by Spellbinders and the Cuttlebug by Provocraft. You can download the pdf's on my blog under downloads/tutorials or here are the direct downloads-they will open two pdf files.

If you have any of the other machines on the market you need to follow their embossing directions but these are the 2 machines that were available to me that I was able to illustrate dry embossing with. You can also use these embossing plates on metal foil, polymer and metal clays and leather. You can even create letterpress images with them.

New January Stamps

I wanted to create something different than the standard pink and red Valentine's. I love the look of all these burlap projects that you can see on Pinterest and all over other design sites but I prefer linen fabric so I decided to create my own stamped linen stickers. I cut a strip of linen fabric and stamped the Valentine's tag with Black Onyx Versafine ink and heat set it and then I ran them through my Xyron machine and I now have fabric stickers.

We hope you all had a wonderful holiday season and hope you have a great 2012!! Thank you to everyone who has supported the TC Stampmaker this year and look forward to lots of new projects and ideas during this new year. I wanted to share this gorgeous vintage style card by DT member Cheri Piles.

I created the layers of the card then stamped 2012 as my background in a blue ink. I then stamped the Happy New Year in a darker color, the brown. I love the contrast in this card with the colors and how you can clearly see each stamp yet the do not "compete" with each other but rather COMPLIMENT one another nicely. I love playing with stamps like this, laying one over another and playing with color combinations. So much fun!!

Amazing 2012 journal by DT member Julie Jacob

DT member Julie Jacob created this amazing 2012 journal using a Moleskine notebook and the free December monthly downloads for the TC Stampmaker.

Instructions:

Trim patterned paper to fit the cover and inside cover of the notebook. I used October Afternoon - Farmhouse (Sunday Dinner) for the cover, and Teresa Collins - Notations (Music) for the inside cover. I cut the big glitter label from a sheet of My Mind's Eye - Lost & Found Two (Sunshine Memories Sweet) paper, and then stamped 2012 on it. Adhere the label.

On the inside cover, add doilies (cut in half) & month strips. I stamped some with the December download stamps, and typed some on an old typewriter. Next sew around the edges of the notebook. Add embellishments (flowers, Scrabble tile, bling). Now you have a fun little notebook all ready for your lists, ideas & thoughts for 2012! :)

We decided to do this months download looking forward to the New Year (I love New Year's but then its my birthday LOL) I love having a fresh start each year.

I created a 2012 planner for this month's project.

There are many wonderful calendar planners available but we have included a totally blank one for those who wish to completely customize their own. I will be sharing a few of my inside pages later this week I created using stamps I made with the TC Stampmaker and some of my own handwriting too. I did them in both a4 and 8.5 x 11 sizes.

New November Stamp Negatives

This month's free download is a mixture of image-give thanks for Thanksgiving (USA) or could be for thank you or gratitude cards or projects. Bare trees for winter. The gear background and naughty and nice for Christmas. Snow and Snowdrop flowers are more for the UK and Europe as they only grow in some parts of the US. The ornate frame and sentiments are nice for card fronts as the words fit in the frame. With so many customers from around the world we are trying to keep them so everyone can use them. So we hope you enjoy them!! Here are a few projects I did with them.

Supplies used: Red Dot paper-Canvas Corp, Green chevron paper-Echo Park, paper doily, rhinestones, ink-Tsukineko

If you look closely you can see I stamped the tree with grey ink and then outlined everything with one of my favorite pens-Silver Wink of Stella by Kuretake.

More Holiday cards

Design Team member Sesil Cratin recently did these great holiday cards. She always does amazing cards and I always admire how she puts all the parts together. I love the red and black together as it adds a twist to the traditional red and green. The great thing about the TC Stampmaker is that regardless of which winter holiday you celebrate-you can create personalized custom stamped cards to share with friends and loved ones. So if you are looking for a way to get ahead on those holiday cards make sure you look at the Stampmaker. And if you haven't taken it out of the box and used-this would be a great time of year to start using it. I love making stamps almost more than I love using them.

Holiday Cards

Design Team member Cheri Piles focused on using the "Happy Holidays" seal to show you several ways to use it with the accompanying stamps. Think of it as One Stamp two looks ;). She did an amazing job on this card and tag. Again I always admire people who can create great cards. Way to go Cheri!! Keep up the good work.

She stamped the background with the snowflake stamps and then layered the Happy Holidays seal in the center.

Here is a *TIP* from Cheri:

To give this card dimension I dabbed my gluestick onto the stamp and stamped again over my inked image then I added prisma glitter which gives the snowflakes a really "frosty" look! BE SURE to wash your stamp right away in warm soapy water to prevent the remaining glue from drying which will ruin your stamp.

To create this tag, she stamped the entire tag using the "Merry Christmas" word stamp over and over creating a word background. She then stamped the "Happy Holidays" seal onto another piece and adhered it onto the card using foam dots. Then she layered lace, flowers, gems and tied it off.

This would make a great addition to tie onto a package this holiday season!

Julie's Christmas Book

I had the opportunity to meet DT member Julie Jacob last month at the IU event in Las Vegas. In this industry, you tend to work with many people online and may never meet many of them, so it was great to put a face with person and spend some time talking with her. She is one the truly nice and kind people and I am glad I know her.

Julie created this amazing book using the October stamps and the new Christmas Home collection from Teresa Collins Designs. I love how she mixed the color and b&w photos. Cloth, Paper, Scissors Gift Magazine

I was so excited when I was given the opportunity from editor Jenn Mason of Cloth, Paper, Scissors to write an article and do several projects based on custom stamped gifts for the recent special edition Gifts magazine. Again this goes back to the fact that I love to share what I love to do and also how to recreate the projects. I think the hardest part was writing the bio about myself. CPS does an amazing job photographing and organizing the articles. There are many beautiful projects by some amazing designers and artists in this magazine.

I wrote this article about creating customized gifts with stamps I had created with the TC Stampmaker. I grew up having an unusual spelled first name and a last name based on Japanese characters so it was a little hard to find anything with my name on it. One of the things I love about the Stampmaker is that it allows you to create your own custom and personalized stamps to create gifts, jewelry and home decor pieces in the your own home. I am only going to share the first page of the article here but if you want to read the whole article, please purchase the magazine from your local retailer.

Recently I was asked by CreaTV spokesperson and My Craft Channel producer Kristine McKay to share a few of my TC Stampmaker projects with the Northridge Publishing viewers.

This was the first time I have ever been on camera and I knew we had to hurry as one of the cable companies was digging with a jackhammer to lay cable so we had to get it finished during their lunch hour. I have to tell you that I was watching a Canadian tv show called Heartland and there was a scene where they are filming a video and the grandfather in the video looks at the camera and freezes. So I was a little worried I would do the same thing. I wasn't really sure where to look as I didn't want to look like a deer caught in the headlights. While I don't think I would want to do this every day-I do enjoy sharing my projects with people and love to teach them how to create my projects.

New September Negatives

*Tip-here's a great idea for creating vintage, spooky type labels-stamp directly on old book pages or any of the great Halloween text papers out there and then add adhesive-I used my Xyron machine and it worked great as it completely covers the back of the image.

I left the Potion label blank so you can add whatever number you want. I think they would be great to use on cups at your next Halloween party so guests can remember which cup belongs to whom.

Wood Bangle Bracelets

Believe it or not these were created with a blank wood bangle, some paint, tissue paper and stamps created with the Teresa Collins Stampmaker. These were similar to the ones we did as Make and Takes for CHA-Summer 2011. I started making these about 3 or 4 years ago as I wanted to create something similar to stamping on tissue paper and adhering to candles with a heat gun, so it would have the appearance that it was stamped on a colored background. I tried stamping directly on the bracelets and it worked for the completely flat ones but not so much on the domed ones.

Supplies Needed:

Blank wood bangles-these are from DIY Bangles

Tissue paper-I used tissue paper from an old pattern

Stamps-I used the swirl stamp from the free July download

Ink-I used Smokey Grey Versafine by Tsukineko

Heat gun

Liquid adhesive-I used Mod Podge but you can use gel medium, thinned white glue etc

Optional: glitter glue

Step 1:

Paint inside and outside of a wood bangle with your choice of acrylic craft paint, shimmer sprays or you can even leave it plain. It doesn't have to be perfect as you just want some of the color to show through the tissue paper. Let dry.

Step 2:

Cut a strip of tissue paper-mine was about 2" wide but it really depends on how wide your bracelet is. Using your favorite inks-stamp your choice of designs on the tissue. The great thing about using the stamps you have created with the TC Stampmaker is that they can be totally personalized with names, quotes, etc.

Step 3:

Paint a thin layer of Mod Podge on the outside of the bracelet and adhere the tissue making sure to smooth out the surface. The great thing about Mod Podge is that is gives you a little room for error in that you can reposition the tissue if you are careful. Then you need to paint another thin layer of adhesive over the tissue paper-don't worry about the edges at this point other than to make sure they are adhered well with no air bubbles. Let dry.

Step 4:

Once you have let the bracelet dry COMPLETELY-you can finish the edges. The easiest way to do this is to simply use a piece of sandpaper and sand off the edges. Make sure you sand toward the center of the bangle-if you sand away from the center you can actually pull off the tissue paper.

I wanted this bracelet to look slightly worn and distressed so I crumpled up the tissue paper before I adhered it to the bangle. I left this bracelet plain but you can add glitter glue or some bling to your bracelet. Its totally up to you.

***One word of caution-I live in the very dry Utah climate so my inks and adhesives dry extremely fast. If you live somewhere with any amount of humidity-let it dry overnight or use a heat gun. If you use a really thick coat of adhesive-it will take forever to dry or may never dry completely. You should be able to see through the layer of Mod Podge.

Create your own custom jewelry in August

For the rest of this month we are going to focus on creating custom jewelry pieces with the Stampmaker.

First up are these amazing pieces by DT member Cheri Piles. She uses the actual stamp itself to create these.

Here are her directions:

Are you ready to take your Teresa Collins Stampmaker to the next level??? Here's a little something that is a ton of fun and has HUGE impact. Once you make one, you will be making these for all of your friends - or at least be the envy of!! ✿ Although I would love to take credit for this idea it is not my original idea - I had seen it on a blog where they took their images and had them made but when you own your own TC Stampmaker you can make them yourself.

Your going to create your image in the same fashion as you would for stenciling. However, if you are creating a monogram you will have to "flip" your image as I did. You will need to measure your necklace frame - both the opening of the frame and the interior width, which is what the dark square around the monogram is, I'll tell you the importance of that in a bit but the black part of the square is the difference in the opening and the interior part of the frame. This also gives you the dimension of your image or monogram in my case.

When you "cook" your image, instead of cooking it for the three minutes you are accustomed to when you create a stamp you are only going to cook it for two minutes - otherwise your image will not be recessed enough, trust me this took me a minute (or a few image pacs) to figure out...

Trim your edges away just as you normally do. You can tell you have a great image when you peel away that top piece and can see the image real clearly.

Wash your image just like normal.

Set your image just like you do for a stamp, for the full two minutes.

Next, you want to trim around the outer part of your square - this will create a "LIP" for your stamp to sit perfectly into the necklace frame. So only trim the outer, NOT the inner part of that square.

You can paint the back any color you want, I was experimenting and added some GENTRY's GLITTER into my paint.

Next you want to paint over your image and wipe away, you will end up doing this in a few layers... This does take time, I found using damp q-tips helps clean it up as you go. I also found that chocolate helps during this process. ✿ It takes practice and a little patience but the results are worth all the effort and by the time you do your third one you'll be a pro at it. I had a little extra time and added some glue and then a layer of Gentry's glitter to this one - I'm totally loving it!!

Next you will want to seal your creation with clear sealer - I think I picked it up at the hardware store for just a few bucks. OK, you should just know this as well, when your experimenting you should let everything dry completely before adding your sealer - some of the glitter went flying when I sprayed the sealer... I still love it so it's all good.

Once dry go ahead and put them in your frame. In real life you can see those flecks really do sparkle...

New August Stamps

Free August 2011 Negative

We have had quite a few requests for sentiments so we will try and include one set on each free negative. We decided to do back to school and also give you a head start on Halloween projects. We have also included one background stamp as everyone seems to really like those also. I made the Halloween frame stamp so you can cut out the stamps in the middle-it was just too small to create a scene so I have given you the elements to create your own.

Here is a mini book I have created with the Boo stamp and the dot background. I made the ruffle by wetting this stripe paper (Crate Paper) and crumpling it up and flattening out to dry. For the background of the book I used a piece of corrugated cardboard and peeled off some of the top layer and then I painted it with Stiletto Glam Paint(Tattered Angels). I then bound the whole book with the Cinch (We R) as I wanted to use the spiral coil to bind it. I added some ribbon and green seam binding and the black chandelier crystal (Teresa Collins Designs). All ink is Onyx Black Vesafine and Tangelo Momento (Tsukineko). I used my Zig pens to outline the Boo. I have been using Zig pens (Kuretake) for over a decade since I started in scrapbooking and they are my go to choice for papercrafting on dry surfaces.

Amanda's lovely Album project made for our TV debut!

This is a beautiful Travel Journal made by Amanda Jones the UK Designer on Teresa Collins design team. Amanda made this as a project for our Ideal World TV show last week. [We sold out in less than an hour! WOW!] She made the stamps with Stampmaker using designs from the free June download. The photos were taken when Teresa & Gentry visited Paris for Version Scrap.

Did you know you can make stamps from photos?

At this show we took photos of those who came to the booth and created stamps from their photos. These were then posted in the rogue's gallery. Another way to personalize your stamps and projects with the TC Stampmaker.

You can also create great pieces of jewelry with the TC Stampmaker. Here are some metal clay pieces and also resin pieces. Since the Stampmaker is a UV light you can create totally custom pieces from start to finish. You can make and design the stamp, stamp the image, color and then set the resin all with one machine.

Happy 4th of July!!!

As an American born Japanese American-Pearl Harbor is a very difficult place for me to visit. Last summer my family and I spent a day out at the USS Missouri and Ford Island. I took this picture on the way to the Missouri entrance. Even though I am originally from Hawaii-it was the first time I had been to Ford Island. You are not allowed to take pictures on the way there due to national security measures. Many of the original buildings are still there.

Although the 4th of July is an American holiday-almost everyone loves and has pride in their country. As an American-I have much to be grateful for and I am so thankful to the sacrifices of everyone who gave that right to me. So a tiny gesture in honor of all those of serve and have served:

Here in the USA-it is a holiday called Memorial Day. It is a holiday to remember all the men and women who have died in the service of their country and also to honor those who sacrifice their lives every day for the freedoms we enjoy here in the United States. Thank you!!

Paris Tag

I love to travel and I loved Paris-hope to go back again one day. (Tip 1 : Don't be afraid to cut up your stamps. The laurel wreath has the words mr and mrs in it on the negative but I cut it apart after I made the stamp). I started out this tag by doing a second generation stamp impression of the Eiffel tower on white cardstock (Tip 2 : for those of you who don't know that means-it was the second impression I made without reinking my stamp). The grey laurel wreath on top of it is the same color grey but it is a first generation impression. The Paris was stamped in black so you get 3 shades. (Tip 3: The great thing about the TC Stampmaker is that you can personalize your stamps-unique names, businesses, etc). I stamped the fleur de lys on plain white seam binding, tied it on the tag, added some bling and Voila-instant gift tag for the person who loves all things French.

In honor of (Inter)National Scrapbook Day-I am sharing this Memories mini album I made and a free TC Stampmaker negative download. I had found the directions for the base of the book somewhere online quite a while ago but I have made a few changes. You can do this in any color but I had already painted the flower background paper inside and I wanted to stay with the pink color. This could also work as a last minute Mother's Day gift. I used over 20 different stamps in this book-some of them are TC images that come with the kit, some are from the free monthly downloads and the rest are from my own personal collection of Stampmaker stamps I have designed and made.

I don't know about all of you but I am ready for Spring and the weather to be nice. I planted seeds so I will have herbs for the kitchen-several of them have not sprouted yet but I decided to make my own custom plant markers. I think I will make some larger ones and laminate them so they can go in the garden. We moved into this house too late last year to plant a garden so I am looking forward to having one this year.

Version Scrap Paris 1st, 2nd & 3rd April

Paris in the Springtime.......what a lovely place to have such a wonderful Craft Show. Version Scrap is held in the Parc Floral in Vincennes, literally 5 minutes from the Bastille & Left Bank. Gail and I arrived on Friday afternoon - it was a bit grey & overcast, but Saturday and our first full day at the show was fantastic...sunny and warm. We visited Hélène at Kerglaz where the amazing Christine Illis was demonstrating Stampmaker for the show.

New April Stamps

I know you all are excited to download the new monthly stamps but first I thought I would share a small jewelry piece I created using the flower stamp and shrink plastic. I used Black Onyx Versafine ink from Tsukineko-the one advantage with this ink is that if you make a mistake, you can wipe it off with wet wipes. I have found out through a lot of trial and error that if you ink up your stamps and then lightly stamp on a piece of scratch paper, it prevents the stamp from slipping so much on slick surfaces, like plastic. I then colored in all the open parts of the stamp with Lipstick Red Copic marker. I then added the bling to finish the piece. You could also use this idea to create custom charms for bracelets, larger jewelry pieces, etc for anything you wanted to give a custom or personalized touch to.

Custom Patterned Stamps with a Diecut machine?

Did you know that if you have an electronic diecut machine you can use it to create negatives for your stampmaker? I recently had to create a stamp and a project for the last HSN segment that Teresa did using this method. At first, I kept having issues with the polymer forming dome shapes where the cardstock was cut away. I finally figured out that if I added a piece of transparency in between the polymer and the cardstock negative-it eliminated the dome effect and you ended up with a nice solid polymer stamp image.

Text Stamps

There have been a lot of questions about text stamps and I wanted to do a project that would illustrate that you can do amazing text stamps using very fine text. I decided to do a canvas so I cut the paper and added it to the front, but the edges looked unfinished so I glued a black and white harlequin print ribbon about the edges. The paper I used is from Sultane in France and the stars are from the TC Blingage line. This quote I got from a very, talented friend in the scrapbook/papercraft industry and I just retypeset it in Photoshop, but you could create it in any program available. I wanted the focus to be the photo of my daughter and the quote so I tried to keep it a little more simple without loads of embellishments.

Today was a great day for Photocentric,Teresa & La Fourmi - our Distributor based in Belgium: the Teresa Collins Stampmaker won 1st prize in the SMAC Gold Award for Innovation in the Kit & Decoration class! Everyone at La Foumi was thrilled!

The Stampmaker has had a great reception - despite my French explanations! I made a lot of French text negatives to make stamps, but as always it is the filigree & photos that steal the show!

I think I should make a stamp of Lionel, Audrey, Carol & - proudly holding the award - Kathy from La Fourmi.

Congratulations to the winners in the other classes and to all entrants with some great products. In 2 weeks, we will be at Version Scrap, again in Paris.

Also, you need to make sure to check your printer settings to get a black image not grey-as the light goes through the white or clear area and stays liquid where it is black so if it is not black enough the whole stamp will harden.

I am also including the directions for the Candy tube holders. I stamped and heat embossed the images and then painted plain white cardstock with Twinkling H2Os and a Sakura water pen.

CHA Projects

There were many lovely projects in the booth and CHA.

First we would like to thank Cindy Duncan from Altered Art magazine for the great steampunk piece she created.

Linda Worsfold and the UK staff created some beautiful and amazing jewelry pieces with silver metal clay-now I really want to learn to work with the metal clays. We had a lovely lady at CHA offer to teach us metal clay so I may take her up on it. Props to Linda and everyone else who created the silver jewelry as it was amazing. Here are a few pieces and the other will be on Photocentric facebook page and will will have an album here on the blog.

Here are a few other projects that were all created with stamps made mainly with the TC Stampmaker and a few with the Imagebox also.

Winter CHA 2011

The staff from Photocentric recently exhibited at the 2011 Winter CHA show in downtown Los Angeles, California. This was the first time the show has been in LA instead of Anaheim. The show began as usual with the traditional playing of the bagpipes. We would like to thank everyone who stopped by the booth appreciate all your support.

We at Photocentric are busy getting ready to introduce some amazing new products at CHA at the end of this month. For those of you who don't know, this is the big craft and hobby trade show, where all the manufacturers in the crafting indutry introduce their latest and greatest products to all the retailers.

As a designer, I tend to be a visual person, meaning if I don't see it I forget about it. So when I saw this planner from Log Your Memory, I decided it was the perfect planner to personalize with stamps made with the stampmaker. You can personalize it to fit your style. I love animal prints, well ok, leopard and zebra only. I used this great leopard print paper from Canvas Corp. The frame stamp is one of the 20 extra TC images that come on the Stampmaker CD and the crown is one of the premade negatives you receive when you buy the TC Stampmaker kit.

Here is a close up of the label and the crown.

I did the crown on white shrink plastic-if you lightly stamp on a piece of white paper and then on the plastic it will slip less. One other tip: if you are using the Onyx black Versafine ink on white shrink plastic and it slips you can wipe it all off with baby wipes and redo it. For the ribbon, I used a wide black satin ribbon, white seambinding and a strip of grey silk that I tore.

Wow! I can't believe how fast the last 25 days have gone. The jewelry piece on this was one of my favorites of my grandmother's. I stamped the snowflakes with Versamark ink and heat embossed them with white glitter embossing powder. This whole tag was actually cut from another tag. I have enjoyed doing this project and appreciate all your wonderful comments.

Maybe we will make this an annual thing....

Countdown to Christmas tag 24

This tag was fairly simple-it is between two extremely busy tags. I used the music block from the Countdown paper for the top part of the tag. You could add more ribbon, seam binding, etc. Again I used spray adhesive for the bird and just covered it with glitter-I wanted a more Mercury glass look to match all the rest of the decor in my house.

Countdown to Christmas tag 23

This is one of my favorite tags even though it is very untraditional colors for Christmas-if you took off the 23 you could use it for a card or scrapbook page embellishment. I cut out the tag shape and then layered a piece of this paper tape stuff that I have had for years-it is not sticky backed and it had a tiny bit of superfine glitter on it (if anyone knows what it is called or who made it, please let me know). Both the frame and the quote are stamps made from TCD premade negatives included in your TC Stampmaker kit.The round 23 was made by adhering a piece of ivory thick stock to a round metal tag and stamping 23 and I added the dots with a black marker.

I first cut out a tag from an old book page. I then stamped the family and a simple damask shape that I created with clear embossing ink(I used Versamark as I have used it for years and it was one of the few available on the market when I started stamping) and clear embossing powder. I then used a foam blending pad to cover the whole thing with Crimson Red Versafine ink but you could do the same thing with any other ink you have and then just use a paper towel rub the ink off the embossed area. I backed it with the Ivory thick stock just to give it some support and layered on all the other pieces. Can I say I love liquid glue dots from Helmar for attaching dimensional items? I have used these for years. I attached the blingage piece to the little black clip with it.

I wanted to use my maiden name as part of these tags but Japanese kanji doesn't really match the Noel line so I have decided to just cut it out and cover with glitter and hang this by the tags in my front hallway. Ok so I now have a stamp my whole family will want.

I cut both the green cardstock and the transparency into a tag shape and then added a 1/2" strip of the red damask. I stamped all the images on lined paper. As you can see you can get all the extremely fine lines in the Silent Night words. The flourish is one of the additional 20 TCD images you get with you Stampmaker kit which is nice as you can then resize the images.

This tag was inspired by the glitter stars I have on my Christmas tree. I have always loved the look of the antique German glass glitter and the texture it adds. This was a more simple tag. I recommend you figure out where your stars are going to go and then stamp the numbers before attaching the stars as it is hard to stamp around dimensional products.

I have always loved the Bazzill cardstock since it first came out and it is still one of my go to items that I constantly use. Even though I don't live that far from Margie-I don't really know her but I have always admired her energy and her style and her products are amazing.

You all may be wondering why I use the Versafine ink. I own and have tried about every brand out there on the market. The Versafine ink is the only permanent ink I have found that does not stain my stamps and it gives crisp clear images and I can emboss with it. Since I do frequently use clear watermark type ink like the Versamark pads and white ink pads-I need to have my stamps clean as to not contaminate them. But this is a totally personal choice and it also depends on what look you want your projects to have.

I already had the quote from several years ago but you could actually make a stamp like this. Basically to do text stamps you create a black text box and make the type white. You can create legible text stamps with type as small as 6 pt but you need to be careful when washing it so you don't scrub away the teeny, tiny dots for the i's etc.

* Note-If you are wondering why the glitter looks a little different than the Gentry's glitter is that I did not have any when I did this project and also I wanted to use the chunkier, antique glass glitter. Please be careful of this if you have small children and when cleaning this up because it is glass. The TCD glitter is not glass and adds a beautiful shine to your projects.

On this tag, I first stamped the damask, which is one of the TCD negatives that come in your TC Stampmaker kit. Then I stamped the jingle bells words on ivory thick stock and cut out the word strips. I threaded all the jingle bells on to a large jump ring-I actually used a metal ring that was on the metal tags that I took off.

For all those of you going home for Christmas and the Holiday Season and those who will be separated from your loved ones-I wish you all a Merry Christmas and a Happy Holiday Season,

This tag was one of the few green ones I did to add a pop of color. All my Christmas decorations are silver, crystal, ivory and green mixed in with all my black and ivory decor since I hate to take everything down. But all the black and fleur de lys' and damask need to be toned down a little for the holidays. Funny that I love all things French when I am an Asian American (well half Asian anyway.) The red glitter ornament diecut is from a sheet of Anna Griffin Christmas papers from last year I think.

This was a very simple tag-mainly stamping. Everything is so hectic and busy at the holidays and tomorrow's tag is much more busy, I did this tag to just be a little more calm. I cut a 1" wide strip of the Ivory thickstock and stamped joy on one side and then attached that to the card and added the bling. The 17 label-I stamped and then trimmer the one side so it just sits under the joy paper strip. Make sure you enter to win the Bella Blvd giveaway on the TC Blog. This tag is another more simple tag but I love the extra dimension that the paper flower-if I could do this again I would brush on some iridescent art medium to give the flower some shimmer. The love bling is an old product from MAMBI-I actually cut it apart and put the letters closer together. The heart is stamped and embossed with clear embossing powder and then I stamped and cut out the numbers (make sure letters are dry before you start cutting them LOL!) The paper flower was made from the page of an old book I bought for like a $1.00 USD at secondhand thrift store-it was not a valuable book. As an avid reader, I had a very hard time cutting up a book. I simple cut it in a wavy spiral and rolled it up-if you know anyone in the medical profession-clean, unused hemostats are great for holding the paper. After the glue dried, I turn my flowers over and lightly "smoosh" them on a flat surface.

I mixed up the negatives I would be sharing as I already shared the negative the Santa is on with you on day 2, I will have the one with the peace on earth one later this week for you to download. The dear is my handwriting and the frame is a TCD one you receive in your Stampmaker kit. I liked the way the frame turned out so I actually made several more blank ones. It was stamped with Onyx Black Versafine ink and heat embossed with fine clear embossing powder. The muslin fabric ribbon I bought but it would be easy to recreate even if you don't sew. Basically, it is just 2 layers of fabric folded in half, stitched and then clipped to make a fringe.

Today's giveaway on TC blog is from Canvas Corp I have used their products for several years and I love their thickstock-it is extra, heavyweight cardstock.

Wow can't believe how fast the days are going by-day 14 already! This tag was stamped and then I added the bottom dotted piece and it didn't look finished so I added a piece of the border that is on the bottom of all the TCD papers. The little white tag is actually stamped on white shrink plastic. I sprayed the chipboard heart with spray adhesive and then added the glitter.

Note to self: wipe off the adhesive before adding glitter or you end up with a glittered craft mat.

This tag was just sort of a collage of various items-I was actually going to use the heart for something else but I accidentally dropped it and decided I liked it better on this tag than the others. Tip: You do not need to mirror or invert text when making a text stamp. You simply print it out as normal and then flip over the negative so it reads wrong and place it on top of the polymer sachet.

This is one of the tags that has sentimental value to me as I have included a piece of jewelry that belonged to my grandmother-this was not a valuable piece of jewelry. This tag was made with some handmade type paper that I have had for years. The houndstooth was from an older TCD collection. You could use any type of bauble or chandelier type crystal-you can also color them with Copic markers or alcohol inks. This stamp is a special TC Christmas negative. I heat embossed the letters as kept smearing them because I sometimes get impatient and don't let things dry before I touch them.

This is one of the tags that has special meaning for me as the button and the key were with my grandmother's belongings when we went through them after she passed away this summer. I decided to add a little more green as there was so much ivory, black and red that it needed a pop of color. I love black and ivory combination as most everything in my house is black and cream but needed some green for Christmas. The Home and large artisan label stamps are ones I created and the background on the label is from one of the preprinted negatives you get with your TC Stampmaker kit.

I love the way this tag turned out-I just started layering pieces and various elements until I ended up with something I liked. The looking back was left over from an old TC paper collection. The artisan label stamp was one I already owned but it would be easy to create your own. I created the thankful stamp for the stampmaker-text stamps are some of the easiest to do-you can create them in programs like Word or Photoshop or Photoshop elements or Gimp(which is free). I had a lot of chipboard stars and I simply covered it with spray adhesive and glitter (I love the Art Glitter glue that dries white for glitter but I didn't have time to wait for it to dry).

This tag was stamped with a script stamp I made with the Stampmaker. It was stamped with Crimson Red Versafine ink that almost matched the TCD Noel line. It is on Ivory colored cardstock so I am not sure how close of a match it would be on white cardstock. The fleur de lys is from one of the premade negatives you receive in your TC Stampmaker kit.

This tag was probably one of the most simple tags I did for the Countdown-I thought about doing some Christmas carol lyrics stamps on the white lines but had that thought after I had already glued everything else down. I did use the 6 from the Christmas numbers I posted for download on Day 2. The flower is just simply crepe paper that I glued to a medium size metal edge tag.

AHH Paris!-The city of lights and my favorite city that I have visited. After studying and majoring in art in college and taking 7 years of French language classes-going to Paris was an amazing event in my life. I am very glad I made it to the top of the Eiffel tower-I have an overwhelming fear of heights (Acrophobia).

This tag was stamped with an eiffel tower image then I added the paper strip to the bottom and the side strip since I messed up on my accent over the e when I wrote the words by hand.

This tag is a mixture of different items-I have had the lace and snowflake for years and never used them. The ornate frame and the 3 are both made with stamps from the TC Stampmaker and stamped with Onyx black Versafine ink from Tsukineko. The Versafine ink is the only permanent ink I have found that doesn't stain clear photopolymer stamps and it gives a very crisp, clear image. You can use Stazon but over time the solvents in it and the cleaner will break down Photopolymer stamps.

I will be showing a new countdown tag each day until Christmas. Each of these little tags is unique and some very simple and others are more intricate, some are not very traditional but I actually like some of them best. Several of these tags contain some pieces of jewelry/bling that belonged to my grandmother (she passed away this summer while I was at the CHA show) so I am dedicating these all to her.

This first tag is a Santa tag. I made the number and the Santa Claus words with the Stampmaker. The Santa image is available to everyone as it is a public domain image.
